Barack Obama stars in Foo Fighters' first trailer for HBO series Sonic Highways

Foo Fighters have revealed the first trailer for their new HBO series Sonic Highways, which shares the same name as their brand new album. Scroll down and click below to watch it.

The show, which will begin broadcasting on HBO on October 17th, follows the band as they record their new album in eight different cities across the US. It is not known if the series will be broadcast in the UK or not.

The trailer shows the band at work in recording studios in eight American cities (Austin, Chicago, LA, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington DC) as well interview clips with influential US musicians such as Pharrell Williams, Dolly Parton, Ian MacKaye, Steve Albini and Buddy Guy.

The trailer also shows the band's frontman Dave Grohl in conversation with US president Barack Obama, discussing the power and resonance of American music.

The band's new album will be released on November 10th and you can see a trailer for it here. The album is the follow-up to 2011's Wasting Light, which you can preview on the right-hand side of the page.

The band will visit the UK next month to play the closing ceremony of the Invictus games. More details are here.
