BBC Music assembles supergroup including Pharrell Williams and One Direction to cover Beach Boys' 'God Only Knows'
27 artists, including One Direction, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Stevie Wonder, Florence Welch and Dave Grohl, have joined forces to record a cover of The Beach Boys' classic 'God Only Knows'.
The track, which was composed and produced by Brian Wilson, was recorded by the artists, who have been dubbed the 'Impossible Orchestra', to launch BBC Music. You can listen to the track below.
Speaking about the project, Wilson said: "Speaking about the project, Wilson said: "I just feel so incredibly humbled that the BBC would choose 'God Only Knows' to promote their new music initiative. All of the artists did such a beautiful job I can't thank them enough."
He continued: "I'm just honoured that 'God Only Knows' was chosen. 'God Only Knows' is a very special song. An extremely spiritual song and one of the best I've ever written."
The song will be available to download with all the proceeds going towards Children In Need.
