Brandon Flowers set to edge out Paul Weller in race for Number One album

Brandon Flowers looks set to beat Paul Weller to the top of the UK album chart this weekend.

The Killers' frontman's second solo album The Desired Effect (which you can read more about here) is currently just over 2,000 sales ahead of Weller's new effort Saturns Pattern (which you can preview here), with three more full days of sales to go, reports the Official Charts Company.

Reunited rockers Faith No More look set to grab the Number Three spot with their new album Sol Invictus, with Mumford & Sons at Number Four and Taylor Swift at Number Five.

Hot Chip look set to enter the chart at Number Six, while eccentric duo Twenty One Pilots are currently at Number Nine with new LP Blurryface and Mariah Carey is presently at Number 10 with her new Greatest Hits collection #1 To Infinity.

In the singles race, OMI looks set to hold on to the Number One spot with 'Cheerleader', ahead of Lunchmoney Lewis's 'Bills' and Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's 'See You Again', which are at Number Two and Three respectively.
