David Bowie scores his first US Number One album with Blackstar

David Bowie has scored his first ever Number One album in the US with Blackstar.

The singer, who sadly passed away at the age of 69 last week, entered at the top of the Billboard Album chart yesterday (January 17th) for the first time in his career.

Though Bowie had topped the UK Album Chart 10 times across his career, he had never scored the same position in the States until this weekend. In taking the top spot he knocked Adele's 25, which had sat on top of the chart for the previous seven weeks, down to Number Two.

Blackstar was released on January 8th and is available to preview and purchase on the right-hand side of the page.
