David Bowie, The 1975, Little Mix are the big winners at 2017 BRIT Awards

David Bowie, The 1975 and Little Mix were the big winners at last night's (February 22nd) BRIT Awards.

Bowie was the night's big winner, taking home the awards for Best British Male and Best Album for his final LP Blackstar

The 1975 lost out to Bowie in the race for Best Album, but picked up Best British Group, while Emeli Sande triumphed and won Best British Female.

Little Mix saw off competition from the likes of Clean Bandit, Calvin Harris and Zayn to win Best Single for 'Shout Out To My Ex', while One Direction rose again to take the prize for Best British Video for 'History'.

The international categories saw Drake, Beyonce and A Tribe Called Quest win for Best International Male, Female and Group respectively, while Adele picked up the Global Success Award and accepted from her tour in Australia.

Rag'N'Bone Man also had a good night, winning Best British Breakthrough Act alongside the Critic's Choice Award he'd already locked in.

Performances on the night came from Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, who was joined onstage by Stormzy, Bruno Mars, Emeli Sandé, Little Mix, Skepta, The 1975 and a collaboration between The Chainsmokers and Coldplay. Robbie Williams, who was given the Icon Award, closed the show. All the performances will be rounded up on hmv.com later.
