Def Leppard and Whitesnake announce huge joint UK and Ireland tour

Def Leppard and Whitesnake are to team up for a huge UK tour later this year.

The hard rock veterans, who previously toured the UK together in 2008, will team up once again in December, taking in 10 arenas across the UK and Ireland on the tour. Black Star Riders will provide support on all dates.

The tour kicks off on December 6th at Dublin's 3Arena and finishes up on December 19th with a hometown show for Def Leppard at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena. The trek also includes dates in Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham and a show at London's Wembley Arena.

Speaking about the tour, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said: "I am very excited to be working with Whitesnake again; we had such a wonderful time when we did it back in 2008. It’s a great experience for rock fans to be able to see two great live bands on the same stage on the same night."

Both bands are touring in support of brand new studio albums, which are due out later this year. Whitesnake's is to be titled The Purple Album, while Leppard's currently remains untitled. Release dates for either album are yet to be confirmed.
