Eminem unveils 'Phenomenal', the lead-off single from boxing drama Southpaw soundtrack

Eminem has unveiled new track 'Phenomenal', which serves as the lead-off single from the soundtrack to boxing drama Southpaw. Click below to listen to it.

The Detroit rapper was attached to play the lead in the movie, but ended up deciding against taking the role, leaving Jake Gyllenhaal to step and take the part of boxer Billy Hope. You can see the trailer below.

Southpaw tells the story of boxer Hope, a successful fighter who loses everything after a brawl goes wrong. Subsequently, he is banned from the sport and has his daughter taken from him by children's services. He is then forced to fight his way back to the ring and to win his daughter's trust again.

The film is directed by The Equalizer's Antoine Fuqua and has a script from Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. Starring alongside Gyllenhaal are Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, Forest Whitaker, Victor Ortiz, Rita Ora, Tyrese Gibson and Miguel Gomez.

Southpaw is due for release on July 24th in both the US and the UK.
