Faces and Small Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan dies aged 69

Ian McLagan, keyboard player with the Faces and Small Faces, has passed away at the age of 69. 

The keyboardist, who helped write key Faces songs including 'Cindy Incidentally', 'You’re So Rude' and 'Three Button Hand Me Down', died of a stroke yesterday (December 3rd) in Austin, Texas, the city where he had lived for the last 20 years. 

McLagan also worked as a session musician for the likes of Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry and Bruce Springsteen, and, collaborated a number of times with The Rolling Stones. 

Speaking to US news outlet KXAN, McLagan's manager Ken Kusnick said: “He was a beloved friend to so many people and a true rock’n’roll spirit. His persona and gift of song impacted the music across oceans and generations. Ian’s artistry, generosity and warmth of spirit touched countless other musicians and music fans around the world. His loss will be felt by so many.”
