Fleetwood Mac, Muse and AC/DC named as bookies' favourites to headline Glastonbury
Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC and Muse have emerged as the bookmakers' favourites to headline next year's Glastonbury Festival.
Tickets for this year's festival go onsale on Sunday (October 5th), with today (September 30th) being the last day that anyone who wants to buy a ticket can register with their ID. Click here to find out more details.
According to bookmaker William Hill, Fleetwood Mac are the overwhelming favourites to headline the event on the final Sunday, with odds of just 4/1 on them headlining the Pyramid Stage next summer.
Such short odds on Fleetwood Mac largely stem from comments Michael Eavis made earlier this year, when he was asked if he had his headliners in place, he said: "We’ve got three headliners already and that’s without Prince. We’ve got some good headliners. We had an agent [for a band] yesterday on the platform by the stage watching Metallica with me, saying ‘My band want to do it next year’. Is it a British artist? He’s definitely British, but the band are not British any more.”
Both Muse and AC/DC, who are returning with new albums in the coming months, are listed at 5/1, with Kate Bush at 8/1, the same odds as Oasis. Coldplay, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Stone Roses, U2 and Radiohead are slightly further back at 10-1.
The full list of odds is...
4-1 Fleetwood Mac
8-1 Kate Bush
10-1 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
