Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai and Frightened Rabbit to play pro-Scottish independence gig

Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai and Frightened Rabbit are to play a gig in support of Scottish Independence later this month.

The trio of bands will play 'A Night For Scotland' – an event in support of Scottish independence, which is due to take place on September 14th at Edinburgh's Usher Hall.

The gig is also due to feature Scottish singer-songwriter Eddi Reader, a collaboration between Deacon Blue's Lorraine McIntosh and Ricky Ross under the guise of McIntosh-Ross, and comedienne Elaine C Smith.

Both Mogwai and Frightened Rabbit have spoken out in support of Scottish independence, Mogwai told The Scotsman: "In just a few weeks we will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to take our place on the global stage and show the world what we are made of.”

Frightened Rabbit added: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I would urge everyone to get involved, register to vote before the deadline on Wednesday and come along and enjoy a brilliant night for Scotland.”
