hmv.com tips... Saint Raymond

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you rising singer-songwriter Saint Raymond and his jaunty pop-folk songs...

Who Is He?

Saint Raymond is, you'll be surprised to know, a stage name. A stage name for 19-year old Nottinghamshire native Calum Burrows. He's been gigging relentlessly since his teens, but his career really kicked on when his self penned, debut EP Escapade dropped in 2013. Now signed to major label Atlantic, he's currently appearing as special guest on Ed Sheeran's huge UK arena tour.

Who Does He Sound Like?

His sound is an even split between the same intimate folk that Ed Sheeran mines, Tracy Chapman, Bruce Springsteen, and bouncy pop like Bastille and The 1975. There are flecks of Squeeze in there and even a little bit of David Bowie.

Why Should I Be Excited?

He writes enormous, stupidly hummable pop songs. That's enough right?

Can I Hear Something?

You most certainly can. His new single 'Fall At Your Feet' is below for you.
