hmv flashbacks: 12 days of time-travelling for the festive season
1. Echo & The Bunnymen: ‘Twist & Shout’
To kick off the series we went time travelling back to 1987, with Echo & The Bunnymen performing ‘Twist & Shout’ live on the roof of 363 Oxford Street
2. Duran Duran work a shift at hmv
Back in 1985, Duran Duran were no strangers to selling records, but not quite like this. We trained them up and put them behind the tills.
3. New Kids On The Block: ‘Step by Step’
We went back to 2008 to watch the reformed New Kids On The Block perform ‘Step by Step’ at 150 Oxford Street.
4. Doves: ‘Catch the Sun’
In another rooftop performance at 363 Oxford Street, Doves entertained the crowds with a live rendition of 'Catch The Sun' from 2000.
5. Suede – ‘Metal Mickey’
Suede performed this classic from their first album for us back in 2003 at 150 Oxford Street
6. The Streets: ‘Dry Your Eyes’
The Streets gave fans a performance of ‘Dry Your Eyes’ at 150 Oxford Street in 2008
7. Roots Manuva: ‘Let The Spirit’
Appearing at 150 Oxford Street to promote album Slime and Reason in 2008, Roots Manuva and the Banana Klan crew perform ‘Let The Spirit’ for fans.
8. The Charlatans – ‘One to Another’

9. The Killers: Mr. Brightside
With an early performance of their hit ‘Mr. Brightside’ from the debut album, we went back to 2004 to watch a live performance at 150 Oxford Street from The Killers
10. Madonna: ‘Like A Prayer’
Madge dropped in for a live performance at 150 Oxford Street while touring her 2003 album American Life to give fans a performance of her 1989 classic ‘Like A Prayer’.
11. Franz Ferdinand: ‘Take Me Out’
Looking fresh-faced in 2004, it’s Franz Ferdinand performing ‘Take Me Out’ at 150 Oxford Street
