hmv's Next Big Thing... #103 CABBAGE

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you post-punk outfit CABBAGE...

Who Are They?

CABBAGE hail from Mossley near Manchester and consist of singer Lee Broadbent, vocalist/guitarist Joe Martin, guitarist Eoghan Clifford, bassist Stephen Evans and drummer Asa Morley. They've been a going concern for just under a year, but have already released a string of excellent singles and toured with both The Coral and The Fall...

Who Do They Sound Like?

Their low slung basslines hark back to the poise of Public Image Limited with the frenetic guitaris of Eighties' Matchbox B-Line Disaster thrown in while the vocal delivery is pure Jarvis Cocker, just a whole lot ruder...

Why Should I Be Excited?

Because they driving indie pop with interesting and witty lyrics.

Can I Hear Something?

You sure can, their new single 'Uber Capitlalist Death Trade' is below for you and you can check out their early singles here in hmv's digital store.
