hmv's Next Big Thing... #113 Pale Waves

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you indie types Pale Waves, the new signing to Dirty Hit, a label with a rather good recent track record...

Who Are They?

Pale Waves hail from Manchester and have been a going concern since 2014. After a string of excellent online releases, they caught the attention of Dirty Hit Records who have now signed them up. This new team-up has been cemented by the presence of Dirty Hit's main men The 1975, with their frontman Matt Healy and drummer George Daniel on production duties for Pale Waves' awesome new single 'There's A Honey'.

Who Do They Sound Like?

Imagine The Pretenders and The Bangles teaming up to write the score for a whipsmart 80's teen movie, that's about the size of it.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Dreamy soundscapes gorgeous harmonies and driving melodies. It's a pretty potent mixture.

Can I Hear Something?

Their new single 'There's A Honey' is below for you. You can check out that and their other early singles here in our digital store.
