hmv's Next Big Thing... #12 Circa Waves

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Liverpool indie types Circa Waves...

Who Are They?

Circa Waves hail from Liverpool, and, in the grand scheme of things, haven't been together long, having formed back in 2013. Since their inception though they've toured relentlessly, taking their angular indie rock out on tour with the likes of The 1975, The Libertines and Royal Blood.

Who Do They Sound Like?

This is classic indie rock stuff, powered by guitar riffs so sharp they could be made out of cheesewire and harmonies that are supremely hummable. For reference, think early Arctic Monkeys, classic Libertines, Gang Of Four and the sharper end of Britpop.

Why Should I Be Excited?

They've got a batch of bouncy indie hits and they're a rather good live band too.

Can I Hear Something?

Certainly. Their new single 'T-Shirt Weather' is below for you and you'll be able to hear their debut album in full from Monday (March 30th).

The band will be performing live and signing copies of the album in two hmv stores next week. Click here for more details.
