hmv's Next Big Thing... #130 courtship.

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you lo-fi LA electro types courtship...

Who Are They?

courtship. is Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon, a going concern for two years now, they've collaborated in the past with troubadour Tobias Jesso Jnr and pop troupe Dreamers, but are now focused on their own wondrous pop creations, all of which they record in Gordon's bedroom in sunny California.

Who Do They Sound Like?

The pair blend the summery pop of The Beach Boys and Hall and Oates with the psychedelics of MGMT and the electronics of M83.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Gorgeous sunny melodies and pulsing rhythms, it's a pretty good partnership.

Can I Hear Something?

Absolutely. Their new jam 'Courtship' is below for you and available here in hmv's digital store.
