Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you brash New York duo QTY...

 

Who Are They?

QTY (pronounced Q.T.Y) are the latest addition to the Dirty Hit stable, home of The 1975, Wolf Alice, Superfood and more. They consist of Dan Lardner and Alex Niemetz, hail from the heart of New York and they've spent the last few months working on their debut album with former Suede man Bernard Butler. 

 

Who Do They Sound Like?

There's a big chunk of The Velvet Underground's smouldering guitars in there, along with a healthy whack of The Black Keys' grooves and The Strokes' gift for pop hooks. 

 

Why Should I Be Excited?

Graceful harmonies and heady melodies, powered by big, big riffs, it's a hell of a brew.
