hmv's Next Big Thing... #150 Sea Girls

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you lilting foursome Sea Girls...

Who Are They?

Originally from Leicestershire, but now firmly based in London, foursome Sea Girls are made up of vocalist/guitarist Henry Camamile, guitarist Rory Young, bassist Andrew Noswad and drummer Oli Khan. They've delivered a smattering of excellent early tracks and have now been working with former Hundred Reasons man Larry Hibbett, the producer responsible for Sundara Karma's storming debut album and are building towards their own debut LP...

What Do They Sound Like?

This is triumphant indie pop with a shard of vulnerability in Camamile's vocals. There's a lot of The Maccabees here, but also dollops of The 1975, Pulp and Foals.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Beautiful grooves and soaring melodies, it's a great combination.

Can I Hear Something?

Feast your ears on their new track 'What For', it's below for you:
