hmv's Next Big Thing... #4 Bleachers

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Bleachers, glorious, sunny slacker pop…

Who Are They?

Bleachers is Jack Antonoff’s baby. You might not have heard of Jack Antonoff, but you’ll know his work. He was once in Steel Train, he’s one third of pop rockers Fun. and he’s co-written some huge pop smashes, including Taylor Swift’s recent banger ‘Out Of The Woods’.

Who Do They Sound Like?

This is pure summery indie pop. It’s The Replacements, Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana’s lighter moments and Fleetwood Mac all thrown in together.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Because all their tunes make it feel like you’re in the middle of summer, cruising down the highway in some impossibly fast car in the middle of the road trip of your life. It’ll never happen to any of us, but it’s nice to know what it would sound like.

Can I Hear Something?

Sure you can, ‘Rollercoaster’ is below for you. Their album Strange Desire has been out in the States for a while, but it’s not out in the UK until later this year.
