hmv's Next Big Thing... #92 Catholic Action

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Scottish indie pop types Catholic Action...

Who Are They?

Catholic Action hail from Glasgow and are the new project from Chris McCrory, the drummer in acclaimed electro foursome Casual Sex. They formed back in 2014 and after a series of excellent singles and some great live shows they're building up quite a head of steam...

Who Do They Sound Like?

They've got the same gloomy stomp as The Cramps, the shimmery guitars of My Bloody Valentine and the eccentric melodies of the Pixies, it's an excellent cocktail.

Why Should I Be Excited?

They write ginormous hooks and shimmering guitar riffs, it's a gorgeous pairing.

Can I Hear Something?

Sure. Their new single 'Breakfast' is below for you and you can check out their previous singles here in hmv's digital store.
