hmv tips for 2014… Bad Rabbits

Every day throughout January we're going to be introducing you to a new act who we think are going to everywhere in 2014. Today it’s soul rockers Bad Rabbits...

Who Are They?

Bad Rabbits are a fivesome who hail from Boston and have been going in various forms since 2007. Now consisting of singer Dua Boakye, drummer Sheel Davé, guitarist Salim Akram, bassist Graham Masser and guitarist Santi Araujo, the band released their debut album American Love in the mid-part of 2013.

Who Do They Sound Like?

On the surface, Bad Rabbits seem like any other soul band, cut from much of the same cloth as The Roots, but there's a lot more to them than that. The snarl of Bad Brains, the graceful licks of the Smashing Pumpkins and the power of mid-period Deftones are all in there. Lots to chew on…

Why Should I Be Excited?

Because Bad Rabbits have crafted an amazing album with a completely unique take on soul music. Also, it feels like they're just getting started…

Can I Hear Something?

Course. You can hear the band's single 'Can't Fool Me' at the bottom of the page and preview the entirety of American Love on the right hand side of the page.
