hmv tips for 2014… Bloum

Every day throughout January we're going to be introducing you to a new act who we think are going to everywhere in 2014. Today we big up French electro types Bloum, who you're all going to love.

Who Are They?

Bloum consist of Paul, Leo, Bastien and Max. Paul and Leo make the music; Bastien and Max do their eye-popping visuals. They hail from Paris and have been building quite a buzz over the last year with their dreamlike electro soundscapes and unique live shows.

Who Do They Sound Like?

If you've fallen head over heels for Kavinsky and his ice-cool synths, or you love the low-key, soundscapey electronica that Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Polica produce, then you will adore Bloum.

Other comparisons are a bit more obvious, you can hear a lot of Nicholas Jaar in what Bloum do, Fourtet and XXYYXX too, bits of Burial and Matthew Dear as well. None of this is bad news.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Because they make achingly cool electronica, backed by some amazing visuals, two things one can never get enough of. Their debut album will emerge in early 2014.

Can I Hear Something?

Of course, they put out a new single titled 'Faith' two weeks ago and you can hear it below.
