hmv tips for 2014… Moose Blood

Every day throughout January we're going to be introducing you to a new act who we think are going to everywhere in 2014. Today it’s the turn of Kent rockers Moose Blood and their fine, noisy brand of post-rock.

Who Are They?

Moose Blood are a four-piece from Kent who formed back in 2012. After constant touring, a few juicy support slots, they released their first full-length EP Moving Home in 2013 (it made into our EPs of the year along with some choice others) and quickly found themselves being named as one of UK rock's brightest hopes, with good reason too.

Who Do They Sound Like?

They take all the best bits, the elaborateness, the epic build-ups, the drive and the power that the best of post-rock (think Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead) and distil it down before adding in chunky choruses and hummable melodies. It's dead good.

Why Should I Be Excited?

They're a brilliant live band, and, if their debut album matches up with the promise they've shown on Moving Home, then it will be a damn fine piece of work.

Can I Hear Something?

You can indeed, 'Evening Coffee', the standout track from their Moving Home EP is below. You can check out their back catalogue in our download store now.
