Kanye West invades Grammys stage after Beck wins Best Album

Kanye West almost performed a repeat of his 2009 stage invasion at last night's (February 8th) Grammy Awards when he invaded the stage as Beck prepared to accept the award for Best Album.

West notoriously invaded the stage back at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony when Taylor Swift won the award for Best Music Video over Beyonce, leading West to grab the microphone and deliver the infamous "Best video of all time" speech.

He almost did the same thing last night, appearing as Beck entered the stage to collect his award, only to think better of it and return to his seat. You can see both videos below.

Later however, West told a reporter that he felt the award, once again, should have gone to Beyonce and that Beck should hand her his Grammy.

He said: "I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more," he said. "And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce."

He continued: ""Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration. And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyonce album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

The Grammys took place last night, you can find all the key winners here.
