Lana Del Rey reveals her new album will be titled Honeymoon
Lana Del Rey has revealed that her forthcoming fourth studio album will be titled Honeymoon.
The singer only released her third album Ultraviolence (which you can preview on the right of the page) in June of last year, but is already hard at work on the follow-up and has nine songs ready to go along with a cover of Nina Simone's classic 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood'.
Del Rey, who has just contributed the title track to the soundtrack to Tim Burton's new drama Big Eyes (which you can hear below), told Billboard that her new album was well underway.
She said: "The production is perfect; I'm looking for a few more songs to tie everything together."
Then asked how it would sound, she replied: "It's very different from the last one and similar to the first two. I finished my last one in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It's growing into something I really like. I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It's been good."
Asked if she would include a cover, as she did on Ultraviolence, Del Rey confirmed that she was working on a version of another Nina Simone classic. She said: "I'm doing a cover of 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.' After doing a cover of [Jessie Mae Robinson's] 'The Other Woman,' I like summarizing the record with a jazz song. I'm having fun with my interpretation."
