MTV EMAs 2016 - Five Things To Look Forward To

The MTV European Music Awards makes its second stop in Rotterdam this Sunday (November 6th) with a star-studded ceremony.

Singer Bebe Rexha on presenting duties and a slew of live performances from the likes of DNCE, Lukas Graham, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Zara Larsson, OneRepublic, Kings of Leon and Green Day.

To get you ready for the ceremony we’ve put together a quick guide of the evening’s highlights...

The battle from Best Video…

The competition to see who will pick up the gong for Best Promo is particularly fierce with The Weekend’s hypnotic video for ‘Starboy’, Tame Impala’s trippy ‘The Less I Know The Better’, Beyonce’s iconic video for ‘Formation’, Coldplay’s euphoric ‘Up & Up’ and Kanye West’s infamous promo for ‘Famous’. We can’t call this one…

As will the fight for Best Song…

Up against Adele’s megahit ‘Hello’ are Lukas Graham’s ever present ‘7 Years’, ‘Sorry’, the song that relaunched Justin Bieber’s career, Mike Posner’s summer anthem ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ and Rihanna and Drake’s juggernaut ‘Work’. All would be worthy winners, but only one can take the gong...

Watching to see if anyone can take down Adele…

Beyonce might be the most nominated artist this year with six nods in all, but you’d be hard pressed to bet against Adele walking away with a hatful of awards. The 25 singer is up for Best Song, Best Female, Best Live Act and Best UK Act and the smart money suggests she’ll walk away with all four…

A revitalised Kings Of Leon are in action…

After a couple of years of well-earned rest the Tennessee rockers are back and firing with new album and they’ll be bringing their Southern fried excellence with a live performance on Sunday night.

Green Day will bring the house down…

The pop-punks are being deservedly honoured with a Global Icon award and will be showing off their new LP Revolution Radio alongside their fearsome back catalogue with a very special performance.
