My Record Collection by Attila's Fronzilla

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of controversial metalcore types Attila and their frontman Chris "Fronzilla" Fronzak. Let's see what he's got for us...

You can check out some of Fronz's picks in this playlist...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"Metallica's S&M , their symphony orchestra album. I honestly don’t remember what drew me to this album but I fondly remember that my parents didn’t want me listening to Metallica. Therefore I listened to it even more!"

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"Thursday - War all the Time. This was one of the first albums that really consumed me and drew me into music. I was really young at the time and this was one of the first bands I heard that really clicked with me."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"I'd say Circa Survive - Juturna. I probably played this album over a million times while I was in high school. It was perfect for any and all moods."

The record that always makes me feel good is…

"Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair. I don’t care who you are, this is a great album. Head Over Heels is easily the best song ever written. I never get tired of that song, it always makes me smile."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"This is Meshuggah - Nothing. If I’m feeling a little blue I prefer to listen to the heaviest music humanly possible!!"

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"I'd choose Closure In Moscow - First Temple. This is an Australian band and they are absolutely phenomenal. Every member is extremely talented and they are extremely creative with how they structure their songs to create different vibes. This album deserves to be massive."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"Converge - You Fail Me. I’ve always been a huge fan of Jacob Bannon’s work, and this is one of my favorites. That dude is extremely talented."

The record with my favourite title is…

"This is Daft Punk - Random Access Memories. I love titles that are obscure and different. This title really drew me in and sure enough the album is incredible."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"Beyonce - Lemonade. I just don’t understand the hype with Beyonce. Not my thing."

The last record I bought was…

"It was my own,  I preordered Chaos by my band Attila. I love my own music! Why would I make music if I didn’t truly love what I create? Fun fact: Any time we get invited to a bar we make them play our music. You've got to start the party the right way."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2017 is..

"I really don’t know right now, I’ve been so busy with my own music and living in the present that I’ve barely had time to worry about the future."

The greatest record of all time is…

"Michael Jackson - Thriller. DUH! There is no doubt that Michael Jackson is the greatest musician of all time. His music is a work of art in every way imaginable."

Attila's new album CHAOS is out now and available here in hmv's online store.
