My Record Collection by Charlie Hedges

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of Charlie Hedges, DJ and host of KISS FM's breakfast show, let's see what she picks out...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"Oh god. It was Take That - ‘It Only Takes a Minuite Girl’. Cringe!"

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"Spice Girls  - Wannabe, when the Spice Girls came about I wanted to be baby spice and all my girl mates would choose a spice too."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"Faithless - 'Insomnia'. This track holds so many memories for me both as a DJ and as a clubber."

The record that always make me feel good is…

"Razorlight - ‘Before I Fall to Pieces’. I went to see them I took my mum, I have the funniest memory of my mum and me dancing and then someone’s pint just covering us, it shouldn't be funny but it was hilarious."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"The Kooks - 'She Moves in Her Own Way', I just love that song and it makes me smile."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Amy Winehouse - 'Tears Dry On Their Own', sadly it just doesn't feel like Amy was with us long enough to really appreciate how good she was I think."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"Michael Jackson - Bad. I used to love a bit of MJ as a kid and remember going through my mum and dad's collection of him growing up."

The record with my favourite title is…

"David Zowie - 'House Every Weekend' - it seems a true reflection of my DJ life being house music 24/7 which I love!"

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"I keep reading that U2's 'One' gets used at so many weddings as a first dance song but... guys…it's actually a song about breaking up. Stop it!"

The last record I bought was…

"Tavo, Yeah signed to 3Star Delux."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2015 is…

"Disclosure and Sam Smith's second single together on Disclosure's new album Caracal."

The greatest record of all time is…

"Probably has to be Robin S, 'Show Me Love', it has to be one of the most remixed house tracks ever. Actually, one of my favourite remixes is the latest by Sam Feldt ft Kimberley Anne."
