My Record Collection by Feeder's Grant Nicholas

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of Feeder mainman Grant Nicholas, let's see what he's got for us...

You can check out some of Grant's picks in this playlist...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"This was a Beatles single in Woolworth Chepstow from the bargain bucket. I think it was 'Yellow Submarine' with 'Eleanor Rigby' on the B-Side. I bought it for the B side as I loved the strings on it."

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"This would be either Led Zeppelin IV and Paranoid by Black Sabbath. I was also massively into The Police. Outlandos D’Amour was a big influence and a reason Feeder became a three piece."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"It's both Harvest by Neil Young and Pink Moon by Nick Drake. Sorry, it's too hard to just pick one."

The record that always make me feel good is…

"Rumours by Fleetwood Mac as it reminds me of summers growing up in South Wales."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"I turn to an album by Simon and Garfunkel or Johnny Cash for a mood lift."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"I'd have to say my own Yorktown Heights."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"This is Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Never Mind The Bollocks by The Sex Pistols. It's just brilliant."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"For this I'd have to say that last Courteeners album. Didn't get it."

The last record I bought was…

"Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression which I really like."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2016 is…

"I can't wait to hear the new Pixies album."

The greatest record of all time is…

"This is so hard to pick but Nirvana's Nevermind is a fantastic record that touched a generation, I'll go with that."

Feeder's new album All Bright Electric is released on October 7th and is available to pre-order on the right-hand side of the page.
