My Record Collection by Gorgon City's Matt Robson-Scott

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of dance duo Gorgon City's Matt Robson-Scott. Let's go exploring...

Check out a selection of  Gorgon City's picks in this playlist...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"This was Culture Beat - 'Mr Vain'. I bought this at Our Price in Muswell Hill - I called it laser music. My dad told me it was called dance music."

The record that made me want to make music was…

"This is Origin Unknown - Valley Of The Shadows. A Ram Records original banger. Every drum and bass DJ has this tune in their bag."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"This was Bad Company - The Nine. It's such a big tune from the best drum 'n' bass crew ever."

The record that always make me feel good is…

"Fleetwood Mac - 'Everywhere'. Everyone loves this song, it's undeniable feel good vibes."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"This is The Weekend - House Of Balloons Vol.1. The atmosphere on this record is second to none. It's melancholy but trippy at the same time. So good!"

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Kwabs - Wrong or Right. He's amazing performer and we hope to hear more from him soon..."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"Nirvana - In Utrero. I was a massive nirvana fan when I was a kid and thought this was a great cover and thought the angel was super cool."

The record with my favourite title is…

"This is Kidnap Kid - Where The Sea Swings In Like An Iron Gate. A great UK producer, make sure you check him out."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"Pitbull - Mr Worldwide! Sorry, not in my world!"

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2017 is…

"Wyclef Jean - Carnival III: The Rise And Fall Of A Refugee. We worked with clef in America and he's a genius. Can't wait to hear this album."

The greatest record of all time is…

"Michael Jackson - Bad. Quincy jones at his best. Love all his production."
