My Record Collection by Only Rivals' Sean Reid

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of Only Rivals' Sean Reid, he guides us through Limp Bizkit, the best of pop-punk and Michael Jackson...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"Limp Bizkit's 'Rollin'. I'm a massive WWE fan and as a kid when I saw The Undertaker coming down to the ring on his motorbike to this I was hooked!"

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"The Rock Show by Blink 182. Not only did it make me want to be in a band, but it pretty much changed my life."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"Probably "From Under The Cork Tree by Fall out Boy. The lyrics were utterly unique at the time and it was amazing to hear soul or motown styled vocals being sung over pop punk music."

The record that always make me feel good is…

"Michael Jackson's 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough'. How can you not smile listening to that chorus?"

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"The Blue and the Green by Lonely The Brave. They released one of my favourite albums this year and this song is really beautiful."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Coming Home by New Found Glory. We had the opportunity to tour them this year and it was really amazing. I feel this album has some of the best song they've ever written on it and it doesn't get the credit it deserves."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"Gospel by Fireworks. I just love the image and how it sums up the entire album with its simplicity."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Good Mourning by Alkaline Trio. I'm a sucker for goth punk pun."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"How the hell is David Guetta a thing?"

The last record I bought was…

"Cope by Manchester Orchestra. I got it on vinyl. By far the best rock album released this year."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2015 is…

"I'm really excited for the new Title Fight album. The new song they just dropped, "Chlorine", is incredible."

The greatest record of all time is…

"Say Anything's "Is A Real boy...". From start to finish, this album is utterly flawless. Max Bemis is a lyrical genius and he created something brilliantly special on this album."

Only Rivals' new single 'History' is out now. You can see the video below and buy it here in our digital store.
