My Record Collection by The Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of The Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner, let's see what he picks out...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"That would be (Hey You)The Rock Steady Crew. I was a break-dancer and a graffiti painter when I was a kid, I miss those times."

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"Bob Dylan’s Before The Flood. I remember being floored by the solo performances on this particular album, the way he moved the crowd. I wanted the same thing."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"The Doors first album. I’m still listening to it. It’s perfection beyond belief and it’s so inspiring and beautiful."

The record that always make me feel good is…

"LCD Soundsystem’s first album. It’s the bomb! It’s so cool and joyous. I absolute adore it."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"Anything with Buddy Holly. He’s my idol and my favorite songwriter. He had a way of telling a story no one could ever emulate."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"The first Suicide album. It’s my favorite album of all time and it stands the test of time. No one ever came close to making such a perfect album."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"The first Suicide album. It’s just perfect and simple. The emotion of the music comes across extremely well."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Sonic Youth “Dirty”, I mean, dirty is a great word and again it describes the music beautifully and it’s sexy."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"That last Coldplay album. Not sure if everybody loves it but they really shouldn’t."

The last record I bought was…

"Sky Ferreira’s Night Time, My Time. I love her, she’s special and her voice is golden."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2014 is…

"Charli XCX. She’s great! Her first album was really exciting."

The greatest record of all time is…

"Suicide’s first album, needs no explanation!"

The Raveonettes' new album Pe'ahi is out now and can be previewed on the right-hand side of the page.
