Professor Green drops James Arthur from his new album after record label pressure

Professor Green has revealed that he has cut a guest appearance from James Arthur from his new album Growing Up In Public.

The At Your Inconvenience rapper told Digital Spy that he had enjoyed his time in the studio with the 2012 X-Factor winner, but his record label had told him that his guest appearance must be dropped from the album.

Green said: "James Arthur was on that record. But then he just kind of imploded, didn't he? It's a shame, when I met him he was a cool guy but he just upset so many people. The label was just like, 'It's not happening', and I can't fight the people who I need to support me."

He added: "When I met him, I thought he was a nice guy, so hopefully he can just bring some of that back and get people to focus on the music and maybe he can too, rather than getting concealed by all the bulls**t."

Arthur has been embroiled in a number of controversies over the last few months, including widespread criticism for his use of homophobic lyrics in a new rap. He confirmed recently that he has parted ways with Syco, Simon Cowell's imprint which is distributed by major label Sony.

Green's new album Growing Up In Public is due for release on September 22nd. Among the guests on the album are Rizzle Kicks, Example and Mr Probz.
