Herd Runners

by Cherry Ghost

Released on Heavenly Recordings

Onto their third album and though comparisons with Elbow are still appropriate, Cherry Ghost have never more like their own animal.

This new LP's midway track Drinking for Two is a lightly crooning, lovelorn glide through loneliness and alcohol that could easily be Guy Garvey’s after dark theme tune, but it does seem that Cherry Ghost have finally developed an identity outside of their peers.

The album's core theme - the need to fit in, carries the same bitter tenderness of a break up album but, instead of crushing the heart, Herd Runners breezes through the blood stream with a melancholy to evoke pain and yet enough soul to carry out those toxins of misery.
