The Cautionary Tales Of Mark Oliver Everett

by Eels

Released on E Works Records

Eels albums are always rich with emotion, but this latest offering feels even more heartfelt than usual.

Strings, brass, xylophone and piano are beautifully used to compliment the deeply personal words of Mr. E, with 'A Swallow in the Sun' standing out in particular.

'Where I'm From' breaks up the album with it's jauntiness, but this is a brief respite before returning to more sombre material.

Listen without distractions in order to get the most out of this stunning piece of work.
