Bloodstone & Diamonds

by Machine Head

Released on Nuclear Blast

Over a 20-year plus career, Machine Head have been at the forefront of commercial metal, from the crushing opening of 'Davidian' to a flirtation with a more nu-metal sound over the late 90’s/early 00’s to the towering The Blackening in 2007.

Following an acrimonious split with bassist Adam Duce, Bloodstone & Diamonds is a re-energised record, packed with massive riffs and some adventurous arrangements.

Featuring string quartets, some surprisingly delicate leads and chanting monks, it is a varied metal behemoth, the sound of a band at its ferocious best on tracks like opener 'Now We Die' and 'Night of Long Knives'.
