Drop

by Thee Oh Sees

Released on Castle Face

There's always something that stands out on this album, from a random chirp of brass or a cheeky keyboard arpeggio, the songs are all brilliantly constructed.

Feisty garage rock is here in abundance, complemented by layers of psychedelia, and the sort of songwriting that would easily bother the upper echelons of the charts if it wasn't wrapped up in distortion.

This is encapsulated best on opening track 'Penetrating Eye', with it's fuzzy riffs, sci-fi effects and la la la la la 'chorus'.
