The 1975, Skepta, David Bowie lead 2017 BRIT Awards nominations

David Bowie, Skepta, Little Mix and The 1975 lead the nominations for the 2017 BRIT Awards. 

Skepta and Little Mix are the most nominated acts with three each. Skepta is up for Best British Male where he faces off against Bowie, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka and Craig David, while he's also up for Best British Breakthrough Act where he'll do battle with Blossoms, Rag'n'Bone Man, fellow rapper Stormzy and singer Anne-Marie. 

The rapper is also up for Best British Album where he will face competition from The 1975, Bowie, Kano and Michael Kiwanuka. 

Little Mix are nominated for Best British Group, an award that sees them up against Radiohead, Biffy Clyro, The 1975 and Bastille, they are also one of 10 nominees for Best British Single and Best British Video.

Emeli Sande and Ellie Goulding will start as favourites for Best British Female where they are up against NAO, Lianne La Havas and Anohni, while Coldplay, James Arthur, Jonas Blue and Zayn will all be in contention for both Best British Single and Best British Video. 

In the international categories there are two nominations for Drake. He is up for Best International Male alongside Bon Iver, Bruno Mars, Leonard Cohen and The Weekend, and he is also nominated for Best International Group for his collaboration with Future, a category where they face off against Twenty One Pilots, Kings Of Leon, A Tribe Called Quest and Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds. 

Beyonce and Rihanna get their solitary nods in the Best International Female category where they face competition from Sia, Beyonce's sister Solange and Christine And The Queens. Robbie Williams is already confirmed to pick up the 2017 Icon Award at the awards while Rag'n'Bone Man has already clinched the Critics' Choice Awards. 

The ceremony for the BRIT Awards will take place on February 22nd at London's O2 Arena, with the evening's events being hosted by Michael Bublé. 

Bublé takes over from Ant and Dec as the host of the ceremony. The pair have hosted the ceremony for the past two years, taking over from James Corden, who hosted in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
