The Cribs reveal they turned down the chance to write for One Direction

The Cribs have revealed that they turned down the chance to write with pop megastars One Direction.

The Wakefield trio, who are currently preparing to release their new album For All My Sisters, revealed that they were approached to write with the fivesome as they're fans of The Cribs.

Co-frontman Ryan Jarman told The Mancunion: "Yeah we even got asked to do a song with One Direction; it's a pretty weird way to infiltrate that kind of thing. It wasn't even Sony who asked us, 1D are actually fans of us — it could have been an interesting thing."

For All My Sisters is the follow-up to the band's 2012 effort In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull (which you can preview on the right hand side of the page) and is their first for major label Sony. It will be released on March 23rd.

The albumwhich is the sixth album of the band's career, has been produced Ric Ocasek, best known as co-frontman of pop rockers The Cars, he has produced the likes of Weezer and No Doubt.

The band will be signing copies of the album in two hmv stores next week, click here for more details.
