This week's new albums: December 9 2013

R. Kelly drops his new album Black Panties, Boston release their first studio effort for 11 years and Toy return with their second album in a very quiet week for new releases.

R. Kelly – Black Panties

The controversial R'N'B star releases his 12th studio album Black Panties this week. The record features collaborations with Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland, 2 Chainz and Ludacris alongside recent single 'My Story'. You can read our preview of the record here.

Neil Young – Live At The Cellar Door

The veteran rocker releases a new 13-track live album recorded during his tours across the USA in 1984 and 1985.

Boston – Love, Life And Hope

They might have been going since the early 1970s, but this is only Boston's sixth studio album and their first for 11 years. Worth checking for the bonkers album artwork if nothing else.

Made In Chelsea – The Soundtrack: Volume 2

The likes of Haim, Two Door Cinema Club, Imagine Dragons and Don Broco feature on the second volume of songs used to soundtrack E4's hugely popular scripted reality show. There probably won't be as many awkward pauses on this compilation though…

TOY – Join The Dots

The London bring out their second album of swirling, psychedelia and Krautrock inspired lunacy today.

Also Out This Week

As well as this, Julie Roberts releases her new album and there's a reissue of the debut record by Beachwood Sparks.
