This week's new albums: November 11 2013
Lady Gaga – ARTPOP
The biggest release of the week is, undoubtedly, the return of Lady Gaga with her third record ARTPOP. Heavily synth-pop influenced, the record includes hit singles ‘Applause’ and ‘Venus’ as well as collaborations with Zedd, R. Kelly, Twista and Madeon.
The Beatles – On Air – Live At The BBC Volume 2
The second instalment of the Fab Four’s BBC sessions also drops this week. This double CD set includes 37 previously unreleased performances and 23 previously unreleased recordings of between takes studio banter between the band’s members and BBC radio DJs.
The 2011 X-Factor champs also return this week with their second full-length effort Salute. The girlband have promised an album full of R’N’B and dance bangers, including recent hit single ‘Wings’.
Much-loved tenor Alfie Boe releases a new album of standards this week, with ‘Georgia On My Mind’, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and ‘Many Rivers To Cross’ among his chosen tracks.
The Nevada stadium rockers cap the first part of their career with a ‘Best Of’, featuring huge tracks like ‘Mr Brightside’, ‘Somebody Told Me’ and ‘When You Were Young’.
Much like The Killers, Keane clears the decks before a planned long-break with a ‘Greatest Hits’ package.
