What Is It?

The terrifying clown gets a 21st century reboot to scare a whole new generation.

 

Who’s In It?

Bill Skarsgård stars as Pennywise The Dancing Clown, with Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jack Grazer all in supporting roles.

 

And Who’s Behind The Camera?

After the departure of True Detective creator Cary Fukunaga, who had planned to make two movies, Andrés Muschietti, director of Mama, has stepped in.

 

Any Plot Details?

This is the adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 novel and follows seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.

It’s due out on September 8th.

A Cure For Wellness

 

What Is It?

This dank and mysterious horror movie looks all kinds of creepy...

 

Who’s In It?

Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs and Celia Imrie are the key players in this movie.

 

And Who’s Behind The Camera?

Gore Verbinski,  best known for directing the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies, takes a significantly lower budget to work on this one. He directs from a script from Snitch writer Justin Haythe.

 

Any Plot Details?

It follows an ambitious young executive who is sent to retrieve his company's CEO from an idyllic but mysterious wellness center at a remote location in the Swiss Alps.

Once he arrives he soon suspects that the spa's miraculous treatments are not what they seem, but just when he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.

Franck Khalfoun, who directed the 2012 remake of Maniac, is on duty for this movie.

 

Any Plot Details?

We follow Belle, her little sister Juliet, and her comatose twin brother James as they move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother's expensive healthcare. But, when their brother miraculously recovers and Belle begins to experience terrifying nightmares a little detective work leads them to discover that they are living in the notorious Amityville house. Oh dear...

What Is It?

The spine-chilling story that began with The Ring gets a new update.

This is the story of Julia, a young woman who  becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery, there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.

Shyamalan writes and directs as he always does.

Here we have McAvoy as Kevin, a troubled man who has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist Dr. Fletcher. Things then tip out of control when he abduct three teenage girls and his personalities all come to life.

Tomas Alfredson, director of Let The Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, is in charge. He works from an adaptation by Drive's Hossein Amini and World War Z’s Matthew Michael Carnahan.
