"It's an incredibly uplifting story that's accessible to all ages..." hmv.com talks to Luke Treadaway and Ruta Gedmintas about A Street Cat Named Bob

If you're a cat lover, you may well already be aware of Bob. When James Bowen, a homeless man recovering from heroin addiction, was at his lowest ebb, a stray cat wandered into his life and, as Bowen tells it, saved him from certain death with companionship and by giving him a reason to live. Bowen wrote a book about his experiences that soon became a best-seller and now a film about James and his famous cat is about to hit cinema screens in the UK.

A Street Cat Named Bob stars Luke Treadaway in the role of Bowen, alongside a cast that includes Treadaway's real-life partner Ruta Gedmintas, Anthony Head, Joanne Froggatt, Nina Wadia and, of course, Bob the cat.

With the film arriving on DVD shelves on Monday (February 27th), we sat down with Luke and Ruta to talk about how the film shines a light on substance addiction and what it's like co-starring alongside a famous cat.
