Alien: Covenant release date brought forward, new poster unveiled

Alien: Covenant has seen its release date brought forward. 

The movie was originally due to be released on August 4th next year, but has now seen its release date brought forward to May 19th. You can see the announcement and a brand new poster below:

Alien: Covenant will star Fassbender and Noomi Rapace, who return from Prometheus. They are joined by a newly cast Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby. 

It is the follow-up to Prometheus, which was released in 2012 and served as a origin story to Alien, it also starred Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce. 

A further sequel to Alien, this time directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp, was in pre-production last year and was set to shoot in 2017, but has now been put on hold due to Scott's new plans.
