Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – Five reasons you'll love it!

The long-awaited sequel to Anchorman hits cinemas tomorrow and will undoubtedly fly off DVD shelves when it hits stores in the spring. We caught a preview screening last week and you're all in for a real treat. Here are five reasons why you should be excited about seeing Ron, Brick, Champ and Brian again as they try to establish themselves at a new, 24-hour, news channel in New York City…

It's just as funny as the first one…

The bar was set so stratospherically high by the first film that it seemed a nigh-on impossible task that this movie could live up to it, but it does. The set-pieces are just as hilarious and the dialogue just as cringeworthy/pant-wettingly funny as the first time round. Some of the lines Ron and co come out with as they are struggling to cope with their new forward-thinking colleagues are particularly brilliant...

It's also just as quotable…

One of the main reasons the first film became such a favourite with fans is the insanely quotable nature of many of the script's one-liners. For about six months after it came out it felt like you couldn't go anywhere without hearing somebody telling you they were ''kind of a big deal''. Get ready for another six months of the same…

It's got Harrison Ford in it…

And he's at his grouchy best. Playing grizzled news veteran Mack Harken, he's only in the film briefly, but while he's up there, you can't take your eyes off him.

It's packed full of cameos…

If you've been reading up on the film, you'll know that superstar rappers Drake and Kanye West make small appearances in the film, but there's a lot more where that came from and they're superb…

It set things up nicely for Anchorman 3…

Though this film ends very neatly, it also leaves plenty of adventures to explore next time round. Here's hoping…

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is in cinemas from tomorrow (December 18) and out on DVD in spring 2014.
