Anthony Hopkins signs up for key role in Transformers: The Last Knight

Anthony Hopkins has signed up for a key role in the forthcoming fifth instalment of Transformers.

Hopkins joins the cast for the new movie, which will be titled Transformers: The Last Knight and on which shooting is now underway.

Michael Bay will return to direct the movie, with Matt Holloway, Art Marcum and Ken Nolan supplying the script. Bay has previously said that this will be the last Transformers movie he directs. Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael will all return to star in the new movie.

The movie is the follow-up to 2014's Transformers: Age Of Extinction and will see Mark Wahlberg return to reprise his starring role as Cade Yeager.  It will hit UK cinemas on June 23rd in 2017.
