Brand new John Lennon and Yoko Ono biopic announced
A brand new biopic based on the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono has been announced.
The movie, which is being produced by Hollywood heavyweight Michael De Luca, who has been in the backroom on movies like Captain Phillips and The Social Network in recent years.
Anthony McCarten, writer of the Oscar-winning Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory Of Everything, will pen the script for the movie.
Speaking about the movie, De Luca, who will produce alongside Ono herself, said: "The story will focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the U.S. — with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want. I am also honoured and privileged to be working with Yoko Ono, Anthony McCarten and Josh Bratman to tell the story of two amazing global icons."
Lennon has been played numerous times on film before, mostly in 2009 by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the biopic Nowhere Boy, which focused on the early years of his life and the formation of The Beatles.
