Brick Mansions: Five Reasons You'll Love It

Action smash em up Brick Mansions, the US remake of District 13, hits cinemas this Friday (May 2nd). We caught an early screening and have gathered together five reasons you'll love it…

Paul Walker is on top form

In one of his final roles before his tragic death, the Fast & Furious man plays top cop Damien Collier, who is tasked with entering Brick Mansions, an area of Detroit was sealed behind huge walls after rioting, and retrieving a bomb. A task, which he goes about with great gusto and that twinkle in his eye. He is sadly missed.

David Belle is a total badass

The Frenchman, who starred in the original version as Leito (now rechristned Lino), the ex-con who must break back into Brick Mansions to save his girlfriend, is a force of nature. His free running, choreography and sheer physical power are a sight to behold. Plus the dude is 41 and jumping around like an 18-year old!

RZA is having the time of his life…

The sometime leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA plays Tremaine Alexander, the drug baron of Brick Mansions. His performance is all mean looks, one-liners and some of the most aggressive chopping of vegetables ever captured on film. Sensing this is probably as close as he'll get to play a bond villain, he really goes for it…

There are more stunts than you can shake a stick at…

Brick Mansions is wall to wall action, from the second the lights go down, it's kick after punch after slam after flip after explosion. You'll never be bored…

It's dumb, but it sure knows it…

Like all good action flicks, Brick Mansions is well aware of who its audience is and what they want. So there's lot of fighting, some mind-bending physicality and a plot that's as predictable as the tides. It won't keep you guessing about the ending, but this will be like crack for action film junkies…

Brick Mansions will be released into cinemas on Friday (May 2nd).
