Bryan Cranston to star in new Power Rangers reboot

Bryan Cranston is to star in the new much-anticipated Power Rangers reboot.

The film will star Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini, Ludi Lin as Black Ranger Zack, Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger Kimberly, and RJ Cyler as Blue Ranger Billy, with Elizabeth Banks playing villain Repulsa.

The reboot, which is being developed by Lionsgate, will be executive-produced by Transformers and Star Trek Robert Orci, who has signed up to help create the story alongside X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.

Power Rangers was originally a children's TV show in the 1990s and was initially called The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it became a huge hit, selling millions of dollars worth of merchandise and spawning two Hollywood spin-offs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.
