Cabin In The Woods’ Drew Goddard tipped to direct new Spider-Man movie
Goddard is the current front-runner to oversee Spider-Man’s second reboot for Sony and Marvel Studios
Director Drew Goddard, who helmed the acclaimed horror/comedy Cabin In The Woods, looks set to sign up to direct the reimagining of the Spider-Man series of movies.
The studio has taken the step to ditch the Marc Webb timeline which saw Andrew Garfield don the red and blue tights for two movies and the next film will be Spider-Man’s sixth in total, including the three Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi trilogy.
Goddard is a protégé of Joss Whedon, having worked on both Buffy and Angel, as well as penning Cloverfield and World War Z.
The next Spider-Man movie is slated for a July 2017 release.
